APPARENTLY THEY ARE ALREADY ON VACATION!

I'm talking about our followers.




During the competition we posted a question to obtain the information about their knowledge of AdWords. The response rate was extremely low, since we only received 4 answers!

Three of the followers have already used Google AdWords, while one of them has never heard about it until he / she read our blog. Maybe they would have been more interested in cooperation, if we offered them a week-end package in Marina Portorož. We'll consider it until the next time!

GOOGLE ENCOURAGES YOUR INGENUITY!

Some time ago I had an exciting experience with Google...

In case you don't know, whenever the world or a region, or sometimes even an individual country celebrates a holiday / special event, Google creates a Doodle (decorated Google logo), dedicated to this day.


However, one day in June I saw this nice picture,...

 ...but I couldn't connect it with any event, that's why I approached the mouse to it and noticed the following inscription:

Kesäpäivänseisaus

Of course I didn't have the slightest idea what that word meant, but I didn't immediately give up either. Firstly, I copied the word and pasted it into Google Search, so that I discovered the language in which the word was written - it was Finnish. Then I used Google Translate and finally found out the meaning of Doodle: Of course, it was 21st June, the SUMMER SOLSTICE!!!

The High C team takes full advantages of Google products! During three-week period of advertising Google translator helped us find the appropriate words in Italian and German language for our AdWords campaigns. Now that we are writing post-campaign summary, Google translate is of great help to obtain technical and expert expressions in English. 
Thank God we have Google!

WORKING HARD ON POST-CAMPAIGN SUMMARY

We finished with a 3-week advertising period on Monday and now we have to do our best to create an effective post-campaign summary.


In this photo you can see Tanja ˝the Boss˝, who is spending days and nights on the computer, analyzing the outcomes of AdWords campaigns and putting down the key results.

Of course, we all participate in the formation of post-campaign summary. But before the submission, it must be reviewed by our coordinator Mitja Petelin.

WORKING HARD TO REACH THE TOP!

When participating in Google Online Marketing Challenge it is very important to be part of a great team, otherwise poor organizational skills of the team result in complete failure. 

Therefore the tasks should be assigned as fairly between all team members as possible. Another important issue is daily monitoring of task performance. A good team leader gives orders and directions, yet he/she must also be able to listen to the team members and accept their suggestions. 

We must admit that working in a team with only three members is easier than we thought at the beginning, as we effectively distribute the tasks among ourselves. Together, we climb the stairs, even if they are extremely steep!

A CHALLENGE? YES INDEED!

One might think that spending 200$ on Google AdWords advertising is as easy as ABC. But if the ads are not sufficiently captivating, you get poor results in the campaigns and you suddenly find yourself questioning WHAT TO DO?! 

Since all the High C members use AdWords for the first time, the use of this marketing tool presents a big challenge for us. But we are not yet ready to throw in the towel! 

We seek the solutions through various websites, dedicated to assist AdWords users, e.g. AdWords Help Center, Google Inside AdWords Blog, GOMC on Facebook, GOMC Homepage, and many other websites. 

An excellent way to learn more about AdWords usage are existing user experience, tips and advice. However, there are plenty of ways to get the right information and the only thing you must do is to dig it up! GOOD LUCK!

BRAINSTORMING MEETING IN PORTOROZ

Although the High C team ended up with only three members – Tanja the Boss, Janja and TanjaZ, we are now stronger than ever!!!  

The team met in Portorož to lay the foundations of our AdWords campaigns (photo slideshow). First of all we went through the web pages of Marina Portorož to learn more about the company. The focal point of the meeting was A BRAINSTORMING SESSION

We searched for the most convenient keywords, related to marinas and sailing activities. Our team leader Tanja has already opened a special Google AdWords account and therefore we created a test advertisement.



We also discussed whether we should create separate campaigns in three different languages – Slovenian, Italian and German. We want Marina Portorož to beat the competition!!!

Short and effective meeting in Marina Portorož

Short and effective meeting with Mr. Damjan Dekleva gave us general view over Marina Portorož business. Marina Portorož is the first marina built in Slovenia established in 1974. Today there are more than a thousand berths available in the sea, on shore and in two hangars as well as the Fazan canal. Restaurant, apartments and sports - recreation center are complementary offers to what Marina is offering.

Mr Dekleva suggested to use complementary part of their offer for campaign at Google Challenge. By his opinion the Marina Restaurant should get more attention as it was renovated just recently and they would like to increase the number of guests.



By our suggestion also apartments should be included in campaign as their guests get 20% discount in restaurant if they stay there overnight.

Our next step is setting up the key words and campaign in AdWords program... The campaign should start first week in May as traditional InterNautica show (www.internautica.net/)  in Marina starts on 11th of May WHEN LOTS OF VISITORS WILL BE HUNGRY!  :P

We are meeting the representative of Hotel Marina

Our group decided to cooperate with Hotel Marina and use their web site for the campaign  at the competition.

On 21.04.2010 we are meeting representative of Hotel Marina - Mr. Damjan Dekleva. Aim of the meeting is to present the competition and their role in it.
The same time we will do a brainstorming and set up the key words that will be used in campaign.
